Abstract:
Is the Manchu Empire a paradise for national integration, or a puppet state that should be despised? In the end, what "legacy" did this premature country leave to post-war East Asia? In any case, the spirit of Manchukuo still possesses "East Asia" and has an indelible influence. Manchukuo, which was regarded as a puppet regime, gave birth to both the "Showa Monster" Kishi Nobusuke and the "dictator" Park Chung-hee. These two became political giants who guided the economic recovery of Japan and South Korea after the war. In a sense, North Korea's Kim Richeng is also "Made in Manchukuo"! Through the life course of these characters in Manchuria, we re-question the reality of Manchukuo and the real legacy it left to East Asia today, including Taiwan.
