Different from the oral, written and image-based media of religious communication in the past, the development of modern technology enables people to experience the charm of religion through images. Catholicism in Taiwan can be traced back to the Age of Discovery, when Spain established a base in northern Taiwan. Later, with the opening of Hong Kong for trade in Taiwan, Catholicism, like other Western faiths, tried to expand its influence in Taiwan until today.
In 2011, the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) of the American Catholic Church recorded ten documentaries. The documentary broadcast in the film reading club is the fourth episode. With his profound historical knowledge, firm religious zeal and open mind, teacher Chia-ChinYang leads the audience into the development of the Catholic Church in southern Taiwan. From the perspective of the Catholic Church, he presents the important teachings and figures of the church. Different from blunt "missionary" methods such as the Bible and narration, the audience is led to explore the beliefs and culture of the Catholic Church through dynamic videos combined with the cultural heritage of the existing Catholic Church.
